Let’s practice some of what we have learnt about GEOMETRY. Take a look at these videos:
The basic geometric forms are the next ones:
As you can see «all» is about getting a basic geometry shape (TRIANGLE, SQUARE or HEXAGON) and drawing it several times making it smaller and smaller. Let’s see how to get it:
The circumference has been divided in 36 parts. The number of parts has to be a multiple of the number of sides your shape has, i.e if you are going to work with TRIANGLES it turns out that 36 / 3 = 12. You can use these 36 parts to work with SQUARES ( 36 / 4 = 9) or HEXAGONS ( 36 / 6 = 6).
THE ASSIGNMENT
It is divided in 2 tasks:
1st.- Following these instructions you will have to create 2 modules (clockwise and counterclockwise) using 1 of the shapes above and color them. You can get inspired by the pictures below. For all of them the diameter of the circumscribed circumference will be 130 mm.
2nd.- Later on, you will make a composition copying your 2 modules as many times as your design requires. You can make photocopies or use a computer based software.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
1st.- Name, last name and group.
2nd.- Draw a frame (1 cm. distance).
3rd.- Accuracy at drawing the Geometric Shape and when going over with markers
4th.- Use any pattern when coloring.
5th.- Complexity of the final composition.
6th.- Neatness.
7th.- Self Assessment
